The administrative headquarters of the Banca Popolare di Lodi house the headquarters of the bank with the same name.
Designed by the architect Renzo Piano, it is not only an excellent example of modern architecture, but it also represents a veritable fragment of a “city within a city”, designed to give life back to a site once occupied by an industrial complex.
The complex includes various buildings that house not only the bank but also social areas, shops and bars. The long facade covered in modular panels in terracotta and the tensile structure in glass and steel cables covering the inside area makes a considerable visual impact.
The auditorium, a circular structure with seats for about 800 people designed by Piano, has excellent acoustics thanks to a series of technical interventions that make this area a veritable architectural jewel.
The permanently operating fountain created by the Japanese artist, Susumu Shingu, is particularly interesting.
